January 17th, 2005 Edition
Hi everyone! Still here in Texas, recovering from the
holidays, adjusting to a new year, and preparing for a new
baby. Oh, and adjusting to a new state hehe. We only have
one vehicle again, so I'm just a home getting settled in and being the
mom. Tom is able to come home from work everyday for lunch and
the kids are getting used to the new routine.
We are adjusting to a new church time (later), Tom's new calling which
keeps him busy Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, as well as
sometimes Tuesday or Thursday with missionary exchanges, kids adjusting
to new Primary teachers since the year changed and they all are in new
classes (Michael back in Senior Primary, wow), and life in the
Panhandle of Texas, where one day it's 30 degrees for a HIGH and the
next can be in the 70s... we do love it, although the kids complain
about the smell of cows, we are told we are smelling money hehe.
As for me, it makes me homesick for Alamo. Though Alamo was never
this strong of an odor... :)
Tom's job is going well and he is loving it. He has complaints
about the cubicle, but just that he's sharing a big one with 3 others
and teases them about their music, so he plays classical for
them. As for me, I'm still getting used to being able to reach
him at work at any given time. Weird! Right after Christmas
Tom brought us into the office to meet everyone and have a look around
as well.
I'm busy with 4 kids and keeping things in order around here.
Homeschooling is very low key right now but we are actively
learning. The library is great here. No calling yet, but
making new friends at church is wonderful. Just life keeps me
pretty busy! Our house is looking like a home again, most
everything survived the move, even stuff we didn't want to survive hehe.
Michael is now 8 years old. I STILL need to get his 8 year old/
2nd
grade pictures taken soon. He loves Cub Scouts here and is
enjoying the weekly meetings, including the Pinewood derby coming up
soon.
He loves legos and spends a great deal of time working with them.
He is really into building with legos, trains, Star Wars, Harry Potter,
and reading anything he can get his hands on. His page is here
Benjamin is 6 years old and also loves legos, especially all the new
ones that popped up for Christmas. I also STILL do not have his 6
year old/ Kindergarten pictures
taken yet, but will soon. He still loves Star Wars,
Harry Potter, superheroes (Spiderman right now) and helping Mom. His
page is here. He is
learning how to read and is a great big brother.
Emilie is 4 3/4 years old and is our ballerina princess.
She never runs out of energy or things to say. She loves dolls,
Strawberry Shortcake, singing, dancing, Princesses of ANY kind, fairy
tales, babies, and coloring. Emilie is
excited to help with the new baby, whether it is a boy OR a girl, and
is a big help to Mom most of the time. She has lots of ideas for the
new baby's name, the latest being Dora or Diego from Dora the Explorer.
Her
page is here.
Nathanael is 22 months old. He loves talking about the new baby, seeing
the new car seat, the baby's bed, the Boppy, but we're not sure what
he'll think once his little brother actually gets here. He has given us
a bit of a scare this past week with severe vomiting and diarrhea and a
close shave with dehydration, including a trip to the ER. He
still doesn't have his appetite back but he is talking and drinking
again, as well as keeping stuff inside that tiny little
body.
His newest thing is the alphabet. He loves the letters and saying
"WHYYYYYYYY" for the letter Y, as well as many other letters..
including U (ooooo he says), O, B, P, D, N and M, which sound alike but
he knows an N when he sees one, and sometimes a few of the
others. He likes letter magnets and finding letters in his own
scribbles, and fun foam bath letters that we keep losing all over the
house. His
page is here.
Baby 6 has no name yet. Just a few suggestions is all. I've
redone his page, so you can find the newest updates better (each doctor
appt has an update). We
are in the final stretch here, 9 months pregnant and all that fun
stuff. His page is HERE
We have a new OB, new hospital, and things are looking
great. We are ready for him to get here, including a car
seat (Thank you!) diapers, clean clothing, bed set up at the foot of
our bed, babysitters lined up for the siblings, just no name yet
LOL. At least nothing for sure yet.
HUGS! Call us anytime! We'll send out mass emails (sorry)
when the baby gets here. I always answer email, though, so be
sure to write or call or whatever works best for you!
Love,
Tabitha, Tom, and family
