The August 18th, 2004 version...
Well, not much new here. Again. We've been busy though!
We have some problems with baby 6- but only on how he/she is going to
get here, as our doctor's office is closing, and noone closer is
covered by our insurance, we won't be induced, so our options are
limited. We have an ultrasound August 23rd with a perinatologist,
and a last doctor appt with our old doctor September 9th. For
more info click HERE.
Baby is wiggling and making his/her presence known. We are not
sure if we are going to find out if this baby is a he or a her, but if
we do, it will be next Monday.
Let us know if you have some volunteers for a big temple trip for
baptisms... we have over 100 ancestors we want to get baptized before
we split up the names for the rest of the work.
We are busy busy busy with our branch! Tom's busier as 2nd
counselor with conducting this month and with the 1st counselor gone on
vacation right now. Lots of new callings... including me.
(Tom was avoiding my eyes during sacrament meeting last week, he sits
on the stand... and then I got asked to meet with the branch
president...) I am the new Young Women's President. In the
branch, there are no advisors or teachers, just the President and one
or two counselors. But everything is getting mixed up with new
callings so things are changing all over the place. This should
be an adventure on our part though, and Tom is committed to making sure
he's home with the kids Wednesday nights....
We went camping, our "Branch Campout", on the 6th and 7th of
August. It was a blast! The tent is getting a bit small for
all 6 of us, but we are considering getting a small tent for the older
boys, and that would make things easier for all of us.
Tom is working hard, and his job is going well! He has plans on
how to be eligible for promotion while doing the best he can with the
great stores he has. We have been blessed. The only
frustration we have is that commission is taxed very high, and is not
eligible for exemption or reduction... ah well, so we see our taxes
again in February/March hehe. Summer is slim on commissions, as
well, so we look forward to breathing easier come Fall, Winter, and
Spring. We love our new area!
I am just busy being the Mom! I love learning with
my 4 wonderful kids. It is so rewarding to be a mother, and with
them all the time. I love it! I still find time (lately) to
scrapbook, play viola and violin, and maybe sew, too. Oh, and of
course read
.
This new calling will be an interesting adventure... I've never been in
Young Women's, at least not since being a Young Woman myself!!!
Michael is starting “2nd grade” officially, though he is doing 3rd
grade stuff and still enjoys playing 1st grade games and probably is
behind in one or two things, but I’m not worried. He loves Harry
Potter and doesn’t really play anything else some days, in his
pretending, active play, writing, etc. He is a huge help and is
so excited about being baptized in December. He’s read the first
3 Harry Potter books but is kind of stuck on number 4. (it IS
huge) He loves playing Harry Potter trivia games, and we found a
Harry Potter trading game that we tried yesterday (it had been packed
away somewhere lol). We are busy getting "school supplies"
together for his home school adventures this year. His page is here.
Benjamin is learning to read, officially would be in Kindergarten but
mostly does 1st grade things. He can read a lot of words but
nothing like Michael at the same age, which isn’t a big deal because we
all know Michael was a bit out of the ordinary. He loves to make
pictures on the computer, play computer games, and play Harry Potter
trivia with Michael. Their other favorite thing to do is build
forts and tents in the front room out of chairs and blankets.
Benjamin is just doing great at almost everything he tries, plus he is
a wonderful helper. His page is here.
Emilie loves being a princess. She’s in a lot of preschool things
but loves to play Kindergarten games. She also loves using Paint
to make pictures on the computer. She is constantly dressing up
and singing and dancing. Anything girly, she’s on it. She
can also hold her own with the boys though. She plays with
Nathanael but I think she forgets he’s only 16 months old and can’t do
as much as she can, and Nat sometimes ends up getting the worst of
it. She hates that the day ends and that she gets tired before
she is quite done with all the things she is involved in. Her
page is here.
Nathanael is running. There’s no other word to describe it.
He knows where his hair, ears, eyes, nose, tongue, teeth, belly,
fingers, toes, and sometimes feet are. So we know he knows a lot
of words… he just doesn’t say anything. He babbles a lot and has
learned to scream and throw things, though not usually at the same time
hehe. He hates wearing socks but likes to put on hats or Emilie’s
hair things. He also thinks the computer is his and will
constantly climb into the chair and try doing anything with the
mouse. One of our toddler games got broken, and the other two are
faulty, so I need to find another one where you don’t have to use the
mouse, but anything on the keyboard will make something happen.
Maybe soon lol.
His page is here.
(it needs updating!)
Have a great day!
Please come visit us! We are about 3 hours from just about
anywhere. Call, write, or email. HUGS!
